Sonoma Mountain Ranch

Sonoma Mountain Ranch is a 1,200 acre privately owned property located in Petaluma, Ca on Sonoma Mountain. Nestled between mature oaks and a long sloping grade, the design approach was natural and rustic. Meandering terrace walls, made of collected field stone found on site, were designed to follow the existing land formation. Pedestrian paths weave through the mature oaks and anchor the project into the site. Proposed grasses mixed in with perennial and native flowers pay homage and blend with grasses that come up every spring and sprinkle the landscape with a golden hue in the summer. The design included an entry courtyard, terraced garden with an edible orchard of over 25 different varieties of fruiting trees, a walking path that circles the main house and a greenhouse complex. The project included, but was not limited to, installing 100 year old ancient olive trees, walls, paths, masonry, steps and flatwork. This project was completed while employed at Elder Creek Landscapes.
